47 years ago today, long-sought-after independence, marking the birth of the nation of Bangladesh. 

Today, Bangladeshi  people will celebrate the history and traditions of their country with parades, ceremonies, 

and music, all set against a backdrop festooned with decorations by day and lit up with the national colors by night..
